About us

Our team unites about 100 motivated people, from all age groups, from all continents and with different competences: Physicians, scientists, bioinformaticians and technical assistants.

Together we have been striving to help people with hereditary diseases for almost 30 years. We were there when human genetics became part of routine diagnostics, and we see how dynamic this field is every day. Despite all the progress, there is still a lot to decipher in genetics. This is exactly what motivates us.

With our diverse team, modern technical equipment and many years of experience, we offer the entire spectrum of human genetic diagnostics and are continuously expanding our services. For example, we have already implemented long-read sequencing in routine diagnostics as a technology that is only available in a few places worldwide. This enables us to close diagnostic gaps by providing an even more comprehensive insight into the human genome. In combination with established methods, we will thus be able to provide answers to unanswered questions in the future.

In our human genetics consultation hours, we take the time to provide comprehensive advice to those seeking advice and their families. We accompany them on their way and listen with open ears.

In addition, the identification of new disease genes and the establishment of innovative investigation methods are close to our hearts. We also like to invest in the training of young academics in order to pass on knowledge and expertise in human genetics. We currently employ three female physicians in training and seven scientific staff members in advanced training to become human geneticists.
