Genetic skin diseases
Genetic disorders of the skin include the following
- Epidermyolosis bullosa
- Ichthyoses
- Albinism
- Xeroderma pigmentosum
- Palmoplantar keratosis
- Pachyonychia congenita
- Pyoderma gangrenosum
In addition, there are numerous syndromal disorders with skin involvement (e.g., neurofibromatosis, tuberous sclerosis complex, ectodermal dysplasia; Ehlers-Danlos, Gorlin-Goltz, Costello, and cardio-facio-cutaneous syndrome). A genetic cause may also be present in familial clustering or occurrence of multiple melanomas in a single person. Please note that we do not offer analysis of the FLG gene.
