Prenatal diagnostics
Most children are born healthy. However, in every pregnancy there is a so-called baseline risk of around 3% for a congenital disorder. Therefore, many parents are concerned about their child regarding a possible illness. Prenatal examinations can help to reduce this concern or to detect and clarify abnormalities in the child.
They also offer the possibility of detecting and thus preventing impending pregnancy complications.
Our broad spectrum of prenatal examination methods supports the monitoring of the course of pregnancy as well as the observation of the developmental and health status of the unborn child.
In cooperation with classical laboratory diagnostics, we offer the following examinations:
- First trimester screening
- Non-invasive prenatal test (NIPT)
- Prenatal chromosome analysis
- Array CGH
- Molecular genetic analyses (depending on indication)
In addition, we are happy to advise expectant parents and the attending physicians on questions regarding individual risks as well as the possibilities and limitations of prenatal diagnostics.
